Recently, in order to commend the advanced, carry forward the spirit of righteousness and inspire the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of the majority of cadres and workers in the iron and steel industry to build a strong iron and steel country, the commendation conference of the national advanced collectives, model worker and exemplary individual in the iron and steel industry was held in Beijing. Chairman Zhou Zhijiang of our company was awarded the title of "national model worker in the iron and steel industry".

Chairman Zhou Zhijiang, born in 1950 in Zhenxi Town, Huzhou City, a water town in Jiangnan, has participated in national defense construction. In 1987, he resigned from his position as the director of the township work office and established "Huzhou Metal Profile Factory" (predecessor of Jiuli Group). At that time, although there was an extreme shortage of equipment, raw materials, and engineering and technical personnel, he led the entire factory staff to work hard with the unique spirit of hard work, honesty and trustworthiness, and innovation of entrepreneurs. He was dedicated to the research and production of industrial stainless steel pipes, and developed Jiuli into a professional industrial stainless steel pipe production enterprise with advanced equipment, complete varieties, and the most competitive strength in China. Since 2005, the production and sales of Jiuli stainless steel pipes have consistently ranked first in China, and multiple national and provincial new products have been developed, contributing to the development of stainless steel pipes in China.

The award was jointly organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the China Iron and Steel Industry Association. It was the third model worker award in the metallurgical industry since the founding of New China, 14 years after the last industry wide model workers award. This time, 177 advanced collectives, 328 model worker, 9 exemplary individual, and 10 model worker in Zhejiang Province were awarded the title of model workers. The model worker and exemplary individual selected by the Chinese steel industry enjoy the treatment of provincial and ministerial model workers.
